Driver Academy for Women - HR-Licensed Truck Driver Program

About the role

Cleanaway, Australia's largest waste management organisation, runs a paid 5-week Driver Academy for Women in Paget, Queensland, open to women, female-identifying and non-binary people. The program sets participants up to become HR-licensed truck drivers. It starts from 4:30 am Monday to Friday, with a start date of January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a heavy rigid collection vehicle serving customers and perform loading and unloading duties.
• Deliver loads to nominated recycling and disposal facilities while maintaining high customer service standards.
• Follow company regulations when operating vehicles and equipment, and complete paperwork and records accurately.

Required profile

• Current unrestricted driver's licence held for at least 24 months.
• Driving history check with at least 8 demerit points remaining.
• No heavy vehicle driving experience required.
• Willingness to take a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test.
• Team player with excellent customer service, commitment to safety and a resilient attitude.
