Driller's Offsider Traineeship (Entry Level)

About the role

DDH1 Drilling, part of Perenti Limited, offers an entry-level Driller's Offsider Traineeship for people starting a career in drilling. You earn while you learn, gain industry experience and receive a Certificate II in Drilling Operations, with the cost covered by DDH1 and future certifications also funded. The role is physically demanding and involves outdoor work in all weather conditions; no industry experience is required.

This is a FIFO position for remote exploration or mine-site locations on 4:2 (4 weeks on, 2 weeks off) or 2:1 (2 weeks on, 1 week off) rosters.

Key responsibilities

• Mobilise the rig from one set-up to another
• Handle core: remove it from the tube, place it in core boxes and label them
• Handle drilling rods and core tubes
• Mix drill fluid additives
• Clean equipment and keep the work area tidy
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs

Required profile

• Flexibility to work both 4:2 and 2:1 rosters
• Heavy Rigid licence (HR)
• Current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011)
• Ability to pass a stringent pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
• Manual labouring experience
• Current police clearance, less than 3 months old
