Dragline Operator

About the role

Anglo American Australia operates five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin and has joint venture interests in manganese and copper exploration in North West Queensland. Reporting to the Dragline Supervisor, the Dragline Operator is responsible for the safe, professional and diligent operation of the 8050 and 8750 draglines.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the 8050 and 8750 draglines safely and diligently, following all Anglo American safety and operating systems
• Ensure compliance with safety and operating procedures and work as a team player to achieve targets
• Demonstrate knowledge of dragline set-up, operations and dig patterns to optimise machine performance

Required profile

• At least 12 months of competent dragline experience
• Proof of operating experience must be provided
• Appropriate mining operating experience, including dragline, dozer, grader and cable reeler skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an open mind and willingness to try new ways of operating
