About the role

AWX is seeking a reliable Dockhand for a busy freight and logistics company in Carrara. The role is a morning shift, making it suitable for students, people with family commitments or anyone wanting part-time hours. Most shifts are about four hours long.

Key responsibilities

Loading and unloading trucks by hand
Sorting, scanning and staging freight
Checking labels and consignment details
Working alongside drivers and forklift operators
Keeping the loading dock clean, organised and free from hazards
Handling freight of varying sizes and weights

Required profile

Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive heavy lifting
Reliable and able to commit to the required shift times
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling throughout the shift
Previous warehouse, freight or logistics experience preferred
Own reliable vehicle and transport to get to and from work
Valid Australian working rights; Working Holiday and Student Visa holders are welcome with at least six months remaining on their visa
