Distribution Manager - Altona

About the role

An experienced Distribution Manager is sought for an Altona location, reporting to the Plant Manager. The role sits in a manufacturing and distribution environment and involves leading a team of 10, including casual and permanent staff. Hours are Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee distribution and warehouse management.
• Manage the team of 10, including casual and permanent staff.
• Manage the fleet of 13 8T forklifts, working with service providers.
• Coordinate inventory stocktakes.
• Act as first point of contact for customer complaints about damaged or undelivered products.
• Manage the distribution department budget and budget control.
• Oversee continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with the HSE Coordinator with a safety-first mindset.

Required profile

• Experience overseeing a small team, ideally in manufacturing and distribution, combining staff management, inventory control and logistics coordination.
• Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or Transport and Distribution.
• Strong admin and reporting experience, including month-end reporting, variance reporting and operational analysis.
• Current forklift and driver's licence.
