Dispatch Officer

About the role

NEPEAN Conveyors is seeking a full‑time Dispatch Officer to join its Mackay workshop team. Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, you will coordinate the receipt and dispatch of goods, equipment and materials that support both workshop and on‑site project operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unload and inspect incoming goods, completing all required documentation.
• Coordinate dispatch of structural, mechanical and pulley equipment to customer sites.
• Book, schedule and manage freight movements, including local collections and deliveries.
• Prepare delivery dockets, dispatch paperwork and organise cranes or lifting equipment for large items.
• Pack orders, maintain dispatch and invoicing registers, and ensure correct job allocation.
• Work closely with workshop supervisors and operational teams to meet project requirements.
• Assist with stocktakes, inventory management and operate forklifts safely.
• Follow company procedures, quality standards and WHS requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in dispatch, stores, warehousing, logistics or materials handling.
• School Certificate, trade qualification or equivalent (preferred).
• Current Forklift Licence.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Required skills

• Forklift licence and safe forklift operation.
• Experience with ERP systems (Pronto highly regarded).
• Sound computer skills, including standard office applications.
