Disability Support Worker

About the role

Skillz4Me is a registered NDIS provider offering person-centred disability support services across the Sutherland Shire, NSW. It is looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Disability Support Workers to provide day-to-day assistance and meaningful engagement to participants in their homes and in the community. Positions are available full time, part time and casual.

Key responsibilities

• Support participants with daily living activities
• Encourage independence, confidence and social connection
• Assist with community access and skill development
• Work with families, coordinators and allied health professionals
• Follow individual support plans and report on progress
• Maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive environment

Required profile

• No formal qualifications needed; a genuine desire to make a difference is enough
• Ideally a warm, patient and person-centred approach, reliability and strong communication skills
• Experience supporting people with disability is desirable but not essential
• Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle
• Willingness to work across a variety of shifts, including weekends

Required skills

• NDIS Worker Screening Check and a current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• First Aid and CPR certificate (current or obtained)
• Healthcare procedure training in epilepsy, manual handling, medication and feeding
• Two professional or character references
