Disability Support Practitioner (SIL Houses)

About the role

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is recruiting Disability Support Practitioners (support workers) for its Accommodation SIL Houses service in the Lambton and Wallsend areas of the Hunter/Newcastle region. The role supports adults living in group homes to live independently and empowered lives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide respectful support with personal care, mealtimes, medication and daily routines
• Encourage skill-building, independence and decision-making
• Support community engagement, social connection and transport, including use of CPA vans and private vehicles
• Follow person-centred plans with empathy and professionalism
• Build positive relationships with clients

Required profile

• A can-do attitude and growth mindset, open to learning
• Professional Behaviour Support experience or lived experience preferred
• NSW driver's licence (P2 or above)
• Physical capability to support clients with mobility or transfers
• Availability across early mornings (6am-9am), day shifts (9am-3/4pm), afternoons/evenings and awake overnights (10pm-6am)

• Hourly rate of $34.59-$35.67 plus super, 25% casual loading and penalties
