Director, Shared Services

About the role

Queensland Shared Services (QSS) is looking for an accomplished senior leader to direct the delivery of payroll and recruitment administration services across the Queensland Government. The role oversees thousands of employees and drives strategic outcomes for a large, multi‑disciplinary workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for large service delivery teams of 100+ staff, ensuring high‑quality payroll and recruitment administration.
• Lead and influence major change initiatives, service performance improvements and transformation programmes.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with senior stakeholders and customers based on trust and accountability.
• Oversee risk management, customer outcomes and continuous improvement across shared services.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience managing large, complex service delivery functions (100+ staff).
• Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change, continuous improvement and service innovation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with senior government and customer representatives.
• Ability to operate strategically while staying engaged with operational issues.
