Director Regional Development

About the role

The Pilbara Development Commission is seeking a senior leader to drive economic and social development across the Pilbara region. As Director Regional Development you will shape strategy, attract investment and deliver projects that support sustainable growth for regional communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional development strategies aligned with the Commission’s vision.
• Lead major projects and investment opportunities, ensuring timely delivery and value for money.
• Prepare business cases, funding applications and policy advice for executive and government stakeholders.
• Provide expert guidance to senior leadership on economic diversification and infrastructure initiatives.
• Represent the Commission in stakeholder forums, negotiations and community engagements.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in regional or economic development, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Strong strategic planning, project management and financial management capabilities.
• Proven ability to develop business cases, secure funding and advise on policy.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience working with regional communities and familiarity with the Western Australian public‑sector environment.
