Director, Private Business Tax

About the role

PwC's Private Business Tax team in Perth is looking for a Director to join its Advisory practice. The team works with privately owned businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups throughout their lifecycle, covering tax compliance, tax planning, succession planning and wealth preservation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client engagements and build trusted relationships with private business owners and key stakeholders
• Lead tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory for large client groups including trusts, companies, partnerships and individuals
• Oversee tax return preparation and review, ensuring accuracy, quality and compliance
• Advise on tax-efficient strategies such as succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and reorganisation
• Support clients through ATO reviews or audits
• Analyse complex financial data and tax issues, identify tax risks and advise on legislative changes
• Mentor and support junior staff

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Australian business and private client tax, leading complex compliance, planning and advisory engagements
• Experience with clients across industries (financial services, tech, manufacturing, consumer, retail) through growth, succession and exit stages
• Proven ability to manage and grow client relationships with private business owners, family groups and stakeholders
• Experience leading teams, mentoring junior staff and driving client growth
• Commercial mindset and ability to identify client needs and manage tax risks
