Director, Office of the Chief Executive

About the role

TAFE SA, South Australia’s largest vocational education and training provider, is seeking a senior leader to head the Office of the Chief Executive. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will provide strategic governance, executive coordination and trusted advice across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Office of the Chief Executive, overseeing executive coordination, organisational reporting and high‑level support to the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team.
• Drive government, ministerial and parliamentary business, preparing briefings, Cabinet submissions and ensuring alignment with whole‑of‑government expectations.
• Provide strategic advice on integrity, probity and serious complaints, managing investigations and engagement with oversight bodies.
• Enable effective executive decision‑making through coordination of reporting, briefings and cross‑organisational alignment.
• Strengthen organisational governance and compliance, including Freedom of Information, statutory processes and engagement with integrity agencies.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative and accountable culture aligned to TAFE SA’s strategic direction.

Required profile

• Proven executive leadership experience with strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen and the ability to analyse complex issues.
• Successful track record operating in large, complex and highly regulated environments.
• Highly developed political and organisational awareness with experience navigating government processes.
• Resilient, people‑focused leader capable of adapting to changing priorities and driving continuous improvement.
