Director of Innovation & Research

About the role

HammondCare is seeking a senior leader to drive its research and innovation agenda across dementia, palliative and complex care. Reporting to the Executive General Manager of Hammond Innovations, the Director will shape high‑impact portfolios and translate evidence into scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the research and innovation strategy, overseeing applied research, evaluation, grants, partnerships, clinical trials and digital health initiatives.
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with universities, research institutes, government agencies and industry partners to secure funding and collaborative opportunities.
• Ensure robust governance, risk, ethics and compliance across all research, innovation and clinical trial activities.
• Drive evaluation, evidence generation and impact measurement to inform investment and scaling decisions.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience in health services, aged care, research or innovation, with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into operating models, secure major grants and develop commercialisation pathways.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience influencing executive leaders, funders and external partners.
• Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in health, public health, implementation science, business or related fields.
