Director of Finance

About the role

We are looking for a commercially‑mind​ed Director of Finance to join the newly redeveloped Novotel, Mercure & ibis Darwin Airport Hotels. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be at the heart of the hotel’s strategic decision‑making, driving profitability and building financial capability across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Department Heads and the General Manager as a trusted advisor, influencing decisions and improving performance.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes with full departmental engagement.
• Provide clear insights on performance trends, identify cost‑efficiencies and revenue opportunities, and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance and robust internal controls.
• Develop and lead the Finance team, fostering a culture of trust and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance experience within a hotel environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Understanding of hotel systems, financial processes and compliance requirements.
