Director, Go To Market Australia

About the role

PayPal is looking for a Director to join its Go To Market (GTM) team in an in-country role supporting Australia. This is a newly created position based in one of PayPal's Sydney offices, working closely with the Australian country manager and their leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Translate strategy into commercial action: understand PayPal's strategic priorities and partner across functions to build commercial execution plans, so that market and business unit teams know their roles, how progress will be measured and what is at stake.
• Drive cross-functional execution as the link between Sales, Product, Consumer, Marketing and other functions, unblocking priorities, pressure-testing assumptions and managing risks and opportunities.
• Partner with the country manager and team to evaluate in-year investment trade-offs and deliver results despite unexpected challenges.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, channels and opportunities to drive revenue growth and global market expansion, and lead negotiations with external partners.
• Align product and business levers such as pricing and FX to maximise revenue and market expansion.
• Work with product, engineering and architecture teams to define the technical design and implementation, and represent the end customer to drive prioritisation and decisions.
• Influence outcomes in a matrix organisation with Engineering, Operations, Risk, Legal, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Finance and Banking Partners.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: 8-10+ years of experience, including 5+ years at a top-tier consulting firm, investment bank or tech company.
• Preferred: executive presence, track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, and financial and strategic acumen.
• Must be based in one of PayPal's Sydney offices.
