Director – Gas Turbine Facility Development

About the role

A newly created senior leadership position within AECOM’s Australian Generation & Storage team, focused on gas turbine facility development across Australia’s energy supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical approach and delivery for gas turbine projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring excellence across the project lifecycle.
• Provide front‑end feasibility, concept design, and Owner’s Engineer support for complex thermal generation projects.
• Develop functional and technical specifications, support procurement of OEM turbines and balance‑of‑plant equipment.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, contractors, OEMs and internal engineering disciplines.
• Support business development activities, including bid preparation and proposal responses.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience delivering gas turbine or heavy‑industrial projects in Australia, covering all project stages.
• Strong knowledge of Australian construction regulations and requirements.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior client leaders and to build positive client relationships.
• Experience in consulting, developer, OEM, integrator or EPC environments.
