Director, Fixed Income Sales (Capital Markets)

About the role

CIBC is expanding its Capital Markets franchise and seeks a Director to lead Fixed Income Sales. The role focuses on building and servicing a broad institutional client base, driving trade execution, and supporting the wider sales team. You will work closely with internal traders, risk, compliance and research teams to deliver value to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with institutional investors such as bank treasuries, asset managers, insurance funds and official institutions.
• Provide primary and secondary coverage for designated clients, managing onboarding, KYC/AML and trade documentation.
• Manage fixed‑income inventory, trade execution and booking of bonds, swaps and repos.
• Distribute CIBC research, identify new‑issue placement opportunities and conduct credit and risk limit checks.
• Collaborate with bond, swap and repo originators, traders, economic strategy, AML/KYC, risk, compliance, documentation and legal functions.

Required skills
