Director, Financial Crime Risk Oversight & Opinions

About the role

The Director, Financial Crime Risk Oversight & Opinions leads the team that provides financial crime and fraud risk insights to ANZ's Institutional business. This senior position shapes risk strategy, supports the Head of Financial Crime & Fraud COE, and ensures risk is managed within the bank's appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership and oversight of financial crime risk across the Institutional division.
• Drive strategic priorities and deliver insights to business‑unit risk forums.
• Monitor the financial crime control environment, identify improvement opportunities and resolve issues.
• Translate regulatory and policy requirements into practical business actions.
• Support integration of financial crime requirements into product, channel, bribery, corruption and third‑party risk assessments.
• Conduct risk assessments, control effectiveness reviews and residual risk analysis.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial crime, fraud risk, or related regulatory risk within a banking environment.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a specialist risk team.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities to influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply risk frameworks and operating models.
