Director - Deal Tax Advisory

About the role

The Deal Advisory Tax team at KPMG is seeking a Director to lead corporate M&A tax work across Australia. You will join a dynamic, market‑leading group that handles high‑profile transactions for private equity, infrastructure, property, financial services and more.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct tax due diligence on complex M&A transactions.
• Provide structuring advice, including deal‑structure recommendations.
• Review transaction documentation for tax implications.
• Support post‑deal integration activities.
• Manage transaction‑related correspondence with the ATO and FIRB.

Required profile

• Tax professional with proven transactional experience, preferably in M&A.
• Strong commitment to client service and ability to develop lasting relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior team members.
• Accounting, Finance or Law degree with a solid foundation in tax law.

Required skills

• Advanced tax technical knowledge.
• Experience in corporate M&A transactions.
