Director Corporate Services – West Arnhem Regional Council

About the role

The Director of Corporate Services will provide strategic corporate leadership for West Arnhem Regional Council, overseeing finance, ICT, procurement, grants and administration. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role blends high‑level governance with community engagement across remote NT communities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Council’s corporate services portfolio, ensuring robust financial management, compliance and risk mitigation.
• Provide strategic advice to the Executive Team, Councillors and key stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and alignment with Council objectives.
• Oversee ICT, procurement, grants management and administrative functions to support service delivery.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Accounting, Business or a related field with substantial senior financial leadership experience.
• CA/CPA credentials and extensive experience in finance, governance and corporate services, preferably in local government or remote/Indigenous contexts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, capable of representing the Council in diverse forums.

Required skills

• Expertise in financial management, reporting, Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislative frameworks.
• Proficiency in ICT, information management and contemporary business systems supporting effective service delivery.

What we offer

• Base salary of $175,000 plus superannuation (12%) and up to $199,500 total remuneration.

• Leave loading of 17.5% and the option to be based in Darwin or Jabiru.
