Director Corporate Services

About the role

The Director Corporate Services provides strategic corporate leadership for CouncilWest Arnhem Regional Council, combining high‑level financial oversight with meaningful community engagement. Reporting to the CEO, you will shape governance, compliance and service delivery across a remote, culturally diverse region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the corporate services portfolio, including finance, ICT, procurement, grants and administration.
• Ensure robust financial management, reporting, risk and compliance aligned with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation.
• Provide strategic advice to the Executive Team, Councillors and key stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of systems, resources and governance frameworks.
• Represent the Council in external forums and foster relationships with remote and Indigenous communities.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, business, finance or a related discipline.
• Extensive senior leadership experience in corporate services, finance, governance or local government.
• CA/CPA credentials and strong written/oral communication skills.
• Experience working in remote, regional or Indigenous communities is highly regarded.

What we offer

• Base salary $175,000 plus superannuation (12%).
