Digital Experience Communication Manager

About the role

CSIRO is seeking a Digital Experience Communication Manager to lead the strategic redevelopment of its website and shape the future state of its digital presence. The role will combine digital strategy, user‑experience design and emerging AI technologies to ensure CSIRO’s research is discoverable and engaging for audiences worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver a future‑focused digital experience, including information architecture and content models.
• Lead the website transformation programme, embedding best‑practice content strategy and improving digital discoverability.
• Advise the Communications team on generative AI opportunities and ethical considerations.
• Monitor emerging digital trends and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver aligned, high‑quality digital outcomes.
• Represent Communications in organisation‑wide AI and digital initiatives.
• Support organisational change, including digital transformation activities.

Required profile

• A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, marketing, digital media or journalism.
• Proven experience leading complex digital or website transformation initiatives.
• Strong background in content strategy, information architecture and user‑centred design.
• Understanding of digital discoverability, search optimisation and AI‑driven content.

What we offer

• Salary range AU$135,000 – AU$158,000 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation.
• Fixed‑term 2‑year contract with full‑time hours.
• Flexible work arrangements and the option to work from Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra or other negotiable locations.
