DevOps Engineer – Remote (Australia)

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a fully remote, international engineering team. The role focuses on building and maintaining reliable, scalable infrastructure for a security‑focused product used by businesses worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure and services, including API gateways and load balancers.
• Develop product features from design through testing and deployment.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
• Operate large‑scale server infrastructure and high‑throughput data pipelines.
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated, reliable software delivery.
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Monitor production performance, identify improvement opportunities, and enhance reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on architecture, technical direction, and system maintainability.
• Support infrastructure modernization by reducing technical debt and simplifying processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, DevOps engineering, or a related technical role.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with technical ownership.
• Experience designing and operating backend services with focus on scalability, performance, concurrency, and reliability.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑throughput data pipelines (e.g., Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and in‑memory databases.
