DevOps Engineer

About the role

Australian Payments Plus (AP+) is building the next generation of payments infrastructure for Australia. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement and maintain secure, scalable data delivery pipelines and infrastructure across on‑premise, virtual and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring traceability and stakeholder alignment.
• Design, build, test and maintain secure, scalable data and infrastructure solutions using standard engineering practices.
• Plan and execute system integration activities, including build configuration, testing and issue resolution.
• Provision, configure and optimise infrastructure across on‑premise, virtual and cloud platforms.
• Automate operational and system‑administration tasks to improve efficiency, reliability and scalability.
• Maintain secure, auditable configuration‑management processes and configuration items.
• Support release and deployment activities to ensure stable, compliant delivery outcomes.
• Participate in testing and quality‑assurance activities to validate deployment readiness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, communicate progress and manage issues.
• Drive continuous improvement of DevOps tools, processes and delivery practices, leveraging AI‑assisted automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or related engineering role.
• Experience in payments or financial‑services environments is highly regarded.
• Exposure to AI‑assisted development, automation or operational‑monitoring tools is advantageous.
