DevOps Engineer – Defence Technology

About the role

Join a mission‑critical team delivering technology solutions that support Australian Defence capability. As a DevOps Engineer you will design, automate and maintain secure, resilient environments that enable rapid software delivery to Defence customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate secure, scalable DevOps platforms for Defence projects.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, deployment and release processes.
• Deploy and support containerised applications using Kubernetes, Docker and OpenShift.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible or comparable tools.
• Collaborate with software, systems, cyber and infrastructure specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise performance across development, test and production environments.
• Embed DevSecOps practices, including security scanning, compliance and vulnerability management.
• Support system integration, verification, validation and deployment activities in Defence and government settings.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures and engineering artefacts.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance automation, reliability and service availability.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with at least AGSVA NV1 clearance (NV2 preferred).
• Bachelor of Engineering degree.
• Proven experience designing and supporting DevOps or Platform Engineering environments.
• Strong Linux administration skills and scripting experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
