DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Automation (Sydney)

About the role

EML is expanding its technology team to drive AI‑powered innovation in workers compensation. As a DevOps Engineer you will design, build and maintain automation pipelines, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD workflows that enable fast, reliable and secure software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins and custom scripts across on‑premise and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes).
• Build and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, ensuring scalability, recovery and compliance with APRA CPS 234 and ISO 27001.
• Implement observability tools such as Datadog, PRTG, Grafana and Prometheus to monitor system health and support incident response.
• Embed DevSecOps practices, manage secrets via Azure Key Vault and AWS Secrets Manager, and collaborate with security teams to meet regulatory standards.
• Deploy and operate containerised applications on on‑premise Kubernetes clusters, optimizing for performance and security.
• Partner with AI, security and infrastructure teams, producing documentation, runbooks and architecture diagrams.

Required profile

• Full Australian working rights without restriction.
• 7+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or cloud infrastructure roles.
• Proven ability to deliver scalable, secure solutions in regulated environments.
