DevOps Engineer – Cloud & AI Automation (Perth)

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our fast‑growing fintech technology company in Perth. You will help evolve and optimise our AWS‑based cloud platform, driving automation and AI‑enhanced workflows across a distributed engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Improve, optimise and scale a cloud‑native environment on AWS.
• Introduce and champion AI‑assisted tooling to boost DevOps efficiency and delivery speed.
• Manage day‑to‑day infrastructure, deployments and system reliability.
• Collaborate with software engineers to roll out new services and applications.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Operate effectively across time zones in an async‑first, remote‑friendly environment.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS.
• Solid experience with containerised environments such as Docker.
• Proven ability to build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Go).
• Good understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Comfortable working in distributed teams with async communication.
• Interest in leveraging AI to improve engineering and operational workflows.
