DevOps Engineer (AWS)

About the role

CORTO is an AI-powered legal practice productivity solution built by a Sydney-based team of developers and engineers. Its DevOps team builds and runs scalable AWS infrastructure and supports the development and quality engineering teams, working closely with InfoSec. The role sits in a small team where your work is visible and runs in production, with exposure to AI infrastructure on AWS as the product grows.

Key responsibilities

• Build and deploy AWS infrastructure as code, including ECS services, Lambda functions, CloudFront distributions and custom pipelines.
• Keep the platform monitored and reliable, using Datadog and CloudWatch for monitoring, alerting and logging.
• Join the weekly out-of-hours on-call roster.
• Work with developers, quality engineers and InfoSec, troubleshoot application issues and share what you learn with the team.
• Use the Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Jira Service Management).

Required profile

• 3+ years in a DevOps, platform, SRE, cloud or infrastructure role.
• Hands-on experience running production workloads on AWS.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Enjoyment of production work, deep troubleshooting from logs and metrics, and collaboration across teams.

Required skills

• AWS compute, storage, networking and IAM services; infrastructure as code with CloudFormation.
• Python scripting, Git and pull request workflows.
• Containers and Linux fundamentals; VPCs, subnets, routing, DNS and security groups.
• Troubleshooting from logs and metrics; AWS certification desirable.
