Despatch and Logistics Coordinator / Weighbridge Operator

About the role

A well-established transport and logistics business based in Carole Park is looking for an experienced and reliable Weighbridge Operator through its recruiter. The role suits someone with strong attention to detail, solid numeracy skills and good working knowledge of different types of steel, who wants to join a busy and growing freight operation. The position is permanent and full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately operate weighbridge equipment for inbound and outbound vehicles
• Identify and record different types of steel and other freight loads
• Issue weighbridge tickets and maintain accurate records
• Enter and reconcile weight data using company systems
• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and mass limit regulations
• Liaise with truck drivers, transport companies and site staff
• Report discrepancies, non-compliant loads or equipment issues
• Provide general administrative support for weighbridge operations and keep the yard safe around trucks and equipment

Required profile

• Good working knowledge of different types of steel and steel products
• Previous experience in a weighbridge, transport or logistics environment highly regarded
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Solid numeracy skills, including calculating gross/net/tare weights
• Excellent communication with drivers and clients
• Understanding of CoR requirements is desirable
• Forklift licence highly regarded (not essential)
• Ability to work safely in a busy industrial yard

Required skills

• Computer literacy; experience with TMS or similar software is a plus
• Chain of Responsibility (CoR) knowledge is desirable
