Desktop Support Technician - Sydney CBD

About the role

The End User Experience (EUX) team builds, runs and monitors some of the Group's largest platforms and systems, and wants to hire a Desktop Support Technician based in Sydney CBD. The role supports end-users across NSW and regional northern NSW, both in person and remotely, while travelling to regional sites. Four positions are available: one 12-month maximum term contract, two 8-month maximum term contracts and one permanent full-time role.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, software and hardware issues for internal colleagues
• Provide desktop support to end-users, in person and remotely
• Install, configure and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software
• Maintain and upgrade laptops, desktops and peripherals in campus and branch locations
• Install and maintain desktop operating systems and applications, and perform upgrades
• Maintain and manage hardware inventory
• Support device lifecycle activities, including builds, deployments, refreshes and decommissions
• Use tools such as Intune and ServiceNow to manage requests and device support
• Communicate clearly with end-users and IT management, and collaborate with other IT teams on complex issues

Required profile

• Recent experience in desktop support
• Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems such as Windows and macOS
• Experience supporting desktop hardware and peripherals
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other common business applications
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with excellent communication skills
• Flexible with working locations, as travel between locations is required
• Experience in technology support teams, MSPs or similar customer-facing IT environments is highly regarded
