Desktop Support Engineer

About the role

Cognizant is hiring a Desktop Support Engineer for its IT Service Delivery - End User Computing team, supporting Newmont's end users with hands-on remote and deskside technical support. The role works closely with the IT Service Delivery Manager / Team Lead and site-based stakeholders across client locations. It is an onsite position in Perth, WA.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote and deskside support to authorized users for incidents, service requests and information requests, resolving issues within agreed service levels.
• Provision, image and deploy workstations for joiners, leavers and movers, and manage adding and removing workstations from Active Directory.
• Administer core end-user services such as email, Wi-Fi, printing and scanning, application deployment, and access to O365, file shares and printers.
• Support and install desktop hardware and peripherals, including Windows and Mac computers, monitors, mobile devices, printers and scanners, along with endpoint security solutions.
• Manage warranty and non-warranty hardware, maintain stock levels at key sites and provide VIP support in line with agreed processes.

Required profile

• Strong working knowledge of O365 suites.
• Good end-user interaction and customer service skills.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of virtual desktop services (e.g. Citrix, Microsoft).
• Good working knowledge of meeting room technology such as wall-mounted screens, projectors, IP phones and video conferencing devices.
