Design Manager

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Design Manager in Perth to lead design team development and governance, driving technical delivery and project excellence across its Western Australian and South Australian regional businesses. The role fosters a culture of quality, innovation and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage design execution functions within the Western Australian and South Australian regional businesses.
• Identify techniques to improve quality and enhance operational excellence.
• Implement continuous improvement and manage revision control, life-cycle replacement and assessment and management of changes to design software platforms.
• Undertake recruitment, development and succession planning for the team.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment, empowering team members to take ownership of their responsibilities and encouraging their professional development.
• Ensure delivery excellence across all projects, maintaining high standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction.

Required profile

• Tertiary or vocational training in engineering design and drafting, or engineering technology.
• Team leadership and business leadership experience in consulting engineering within the mining and/or industrial sectors.

Required skills

• Experience and certification in using and administering design and drafting platforms, including the Autodesk suite (Advance Steel, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Revit) and Bentley MicroStation.
• Experience with design data management platforms such as Autodesk Vault and ProjectWise.
