Design Engineer (Civil)

About the role

The City of Rockingham, a local government 40 km south of the Perth CBD, is seeking a skilled Design Engineer (Civil) to join its Design Services team. The role prepares and develops civil infrastructure designs for roads, pavements, drainage systems, car parks, reserves, coastal facilities and other community assets, contributing to the City's Capital Works Program.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare concept and detailed designs, drawings, quantities, cost estimates and construction documentation
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and industry best practice
• Work independently and collaboratively with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and the community

Required profile

• Sound knowledge of road and pavement design, stormwater drainage design, traffic management and associated civil infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to prepare civil engineering designs, drawings, quantities, cost estimates and construction documentation
• Diploma in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent or relevant qualification, or substantial directly related experience
• Current 'C' Class driver's licence

Required skills

• Extensive experience using Civil 3D and AutoCAD
• Word processing and spreadsheets
• Strong communication skills
