Deputy Manager Conferrals & Prizes

About the role

The Deputy Manager, Conferrals and Prizes leads and oversees University-wide conferral and prizes administration at the Australian National University (ANU). The role ensures these functions are delivered accurately, consistently and in line with university policies, procedures and governance requirements, while coordinating complex administrative processes, maintaining data integrity and supporting the timely conferral of awards and recognition of student achievement. The position is based in Canberra and is classified as ANU Officer 8 (Administration).

Key responsibilities

• Oversee conferral and prizes administration so that awards are conferred accurately and in compliance with university policy.
• Coordinate complex administrative processes and maintain data integrity.
• Support the timely conferral of awards and recognition of student achievements.
• Strengthen administrative processes, improve service delivery and enhance the student experience.
• Build relationships and collaborate with a broad network of stakeholders across ANU.

Required profile

• Experience in student administration, governance or complex administrative service delivery.
• A highly organised, detail-oriented leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Sound judgement and a systematic approach to managing detailed processes and competing deadlines.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to interpret policies and maintain high standards of accuracy.
• Ability to support staff development and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
