Deputy Head of Department - Speech Pathology (Level 4)

About the role

Sydney Local Health District is recruiting a Deputy Head of Department for Speech Pathology (Speech Pathologist Level 4) at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, a temporary full-time position of 38 hours per week until October 2027. The role leads and manages the Speech Pathology clinical services team together with the Director Speech Pathology/HOD, covering leadership, staff supervision, professional standards, safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Speech Pathology clinical services team at Concord Hospital
• Supervise staff and manage professional standards
• Develop safety and quality practices
• Work with the Professional Discipline Director of Speech Pathology and other Heads of Departments to improve services and quality across the allied health stream in Sydney LHD

Required profile

• Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Speech Pathology with current registration to practice and eligibility for membership of the Speech Pathology professional association
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications in clinical leadership and/or management, or willingness to undertake them
• Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and experience across a broad range of clinical areas
• Valid NSW driver's licence (P1 and P2 accepted)
