Department Manager – Retail

About the role

Kmart is seeking a Department Manager to lead a high‑volume retail team in Broome. You will be responsible for creating a safe, motivated environment while delivering excellent customer service and meeting sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, lead, develop and coach team members.
• Drive motivation, uphold high standards, and ensure a safe working culture.
• Maintain merchandising and safety standards across the department.
• Foster strong relationships with team members, peers, customers and senior leaders.

Required profile

• Previous management experience in a big‑box or high‑volume retail environment.
• Proven ability to coach and lead large, diverse teams.
• Commitment to safety, customer focus and continuous team motivation.
• Resilient, adaptable and able to work at a fast pace.
