Dental Assistant / Receptionist

About the role

Dentalcare Mount Barker, part of the Abano Healthcare network, is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Dental Assistant/Receptionist. No previous dental experience is required; the role suits someone keen to learn and build a career in a supportive practice. It is a full-time position across a 9-day fortnight, covering both clinical and front-desk work.

Key responsibilities

• Assist dentists and the clinical team during patient appointments
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain infection control standards
• Sterilise equipment and maintain clinical compliance
• Welcome and support patients warmly and professionally
• Manage patient appointments and recalls
• Answer phone enquiries and provide customer service
• Process payments and health fund claims
• Help with day-to-day practice operations

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about starting a career in the dental industry
• Friendly, approachable and passionate about patient care
• Eager to learn and develop new skills
• Organised, reliable and able to multitask in a busy environment
• Enjoys working collaboratively in a supportive team
• Previous customer service, administration, hospitality or healthcare experience is not essential
