Dental Assistant / Receptionist

About the role

Maven Dental Burnside, a general, restorative and implant dentistry practice in Burnside Village Shopping Centre, is looking for a full-time Dental Assistant/Receptionist to support its growth as a third dentist joins the team in November. The role is predominantly chairside, with occasional reception support; reception experience is not essential because training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during general, restorative and implant procedures and create a positive patient experience
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments in line with infection control standards
• Welcome patients and manage check-in and check-out
• Schedule appointments and recalls and manage phone enquiries
• Process payments, HICAPS claims and health fund enquiries
• Maintain accurate patient records and billing information
• Support the day-to-day running of the practice

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant and/or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or higher)
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation protocols
• Warm, welcoming manner and clear, professional communication with patients and the team
• Willingness to learn new systems and develop skills across the practice
• Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one
