Demi Chef - Restaurant Kitchen

About the role

Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa is Broome's premier beachfront resort, spanning 26 acres with 225 rooms, two pools, a day spa, hair salon and four restaurants. It is seeking an enthusiastic Demi Chef with experience in premium kitchen service to work in one of its restaurants. The restaurant runs a 7-day rotating roster, and the successful candidate will learn and develop skills across all sections of the busy kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Produce all buffet items, a la carte items and other special requests as specified by the chef in charge.
• Assist in food production according to guest demand, season and religion, and help supply and set up all outlets in time.
• Replenish the buffet and ensure proper reuse.
• Assist in ordering supplies from stores and help monitor stock rotation.
• Follow the chef in charge's instructions and ensure food quality and presentation standards are met.
• Consult the chef in charge about bookings, special services and dishes required.

Required profile

• Formal qualifications in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in a high-volume a la carte restaurant.
• Thorough knowledge of security, health and safety requirements in a commercial kitchen.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Hotel/resort experience is highly regarded.
