Day Shift Maintenance Fitter - Food Manufacturing

About the role

A well-established Australian beef manufacturing operation in the Hunter Valley region is hiring a day-shift Maintenance Fitter for a permanent full-time position. The role keeps production running safely and efficiently through preventative and breakdown maintenance across a large-scale manufacturing facility, working closely with operations and other tradespeople. The shift runs approximately 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and servicing of production equipment
• Fault finding and troubleshooting on machinery and robotic systems
• Repairing and replacing mechanical components
• Equipment installations and project work
• Reactive breakdown maintenance
• Continuous improvement activities
• Supporting apprentices and sharing technical knowledge
• Maintaining workshop and site safety standards

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or Fitter/Machinist
• Previous experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food, packaging, meat processing or industrial environments
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety and quality standards
• Current driver's licence and full Australian work rights
• Hands-on approach, teamwork and a strong safety mindset

Required skills

• Forklift licence (advantageous)
• Machinery and robotic system troubleshooting
