Databricks Solution Architect

About the role

A fast-growing Data & AI consulting organization in Sydney is urgently hiring a Databricks Solution Architect (also listed as Senior Solution Architect). The role leads enterprise-scale data and AI solutions on Databricks Lakehouse, working with global enterprise customers and senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead enterprise-scale Data & AI solutions on Databricks Lakehouse
• Architect scalable data platforms across AWS, Azure and/or GCP
• Lead end-to-end Databricks implementations from discovery to production
• Build and optimize data pipelines using Apache Spark, Databricks and Delta Lake
• Drive performance tuning, cost optimization and platform scalability
• Implement CI/CD, DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Support MLOps and modern AI workflows
• Lead architecture workshops, technical discovery sessions and executive presentations
• Mentor engineering teams and drive architecture and governance best practices

Required profile

• 10+ years of consulting and technology experience
• 7+ years in Data Engineering, Data Platforms or Analytics
• 6-8 enterprise Databricks implementations delivered in production
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field; Master's preferred
• Strong customer-facing consulting experience and excellent communication and presentation skills

Required skills

• Databricks (hands-on) and Databricks Data Engineer Professional Certification (mandatory)
• Apache Spark / PySpark and Delta Lake
• Enterprise data architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Data governance, security and platform modernization
