Data Platform Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading Perth-based organisation that is undergoing a major data and analytics transformation. The Data Platform Engineer will design, build and optimise modern data platforms within the Microsoft ecosystem, enabling business insights and AI-driven decision-making. This role works closely with stakeholders, analysts and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure and high-performance data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and optimise data pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse and Dataflows.
• Create and manage data models for reporting, analytics and AI initiatives.
• Integrate and transform data from on-premise and cloud sources while ensuring data quality and governance.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts, BI developers, architects and business stakeholders.
• Support the continuous evolution of the organisation’s modern data platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Platform Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience building solutions using Azure Data Factory, Synapse or related Azure technologies.
• Advanced SQL development and expertise in designing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling principles.
• Experience handling large and complex datasets.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
