Data Management Officer

About the role

The Data Management Officer provides document and data management services across Saab programmes and projects, working closely with project and engineering teams to ensure data, documentation, and media are accurately catalogued, securely stored, and readily retrievable.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, register, control, and distribute customer and supplier documentation, data, and media.
• Manage the distribution of controlled documentation, data, and media, including Defence Safe Hand items.
• File, index, and retrieve records to support business and project requirements.
• Prepare, register, and dispatch documentation, data, and media for delivery or archiving.
• Track and report approved configuration changes and support software releases with status reports and release documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years’ defence industry experience in a project‑based or product engineering environment.
• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
• Proven ability to liaise effectively with internal customers.

Required skills

• High level of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with data management databases for registering, controlling, and distributing data, documents and media.
• Knowledge of soft and hard copy data management within an engineering environment.
• Experience with Defence Safe Hand practices.
