Data Engineer – Palantir Foundry (Canberra)

About the role

We are looking for a Canberra‑based Data Engineer with an NV2 security clearance to join Informatech’s high‑performing data team. The role focuses on designing, building and operating production‑grade data pipelines within Palantir Foundry, collaborating with senior engineers, analysts and operational users to deliver reliable data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable Foundry data pipelines from raw ingestion to curated datasets and Ontology objects.
• Develop Ontology objects, links and actions in line with solution specifications.
• Write, optimise and review PySpark transformations for performance and cost efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve pipeline failures and participate in on‑call support rotations.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing and code reviews.
• Contribute to internal engineering standards, patterns and documentation.
• Partner with analysts and operational stakeholders to enhance Workshop tooling.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of production experience in Palantir Foundry.
• 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modelling (Kimball or equivalent).
• Advanced SQL skills across analytical workloads.
• Ability to manage workstreams independently and challenge unclear requirements constructively.
