Data Engineer

About the role

The Department of Housing and Works is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data models, business intelligence reports and dashboards that support evidence‑based decision‑making across government services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise data models to meet reporting specifications.
• Create insightful BI reports and interactive dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyse trends and data‑driven insights to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Collaborate with business users to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Maintain data quality, documentation and governance standards.
