Data Engineer – Build Scalable Data Solutions

About the role

Our Data Engineering team builds world‑class data solutions that power critical business decisions across Atlassian. As a Data Engineer you will design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and models that serve finance, product, growth, and other domains.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with analytics and data science teams to create data solutions that enable deeper insights.
• Architect and build data models, ingestion processes and applications based on stakeholder requirements.
• Add new data sources, implement business rules and generate metrics for product analysts and data scientists.
• Own end‑to‑end problem solving, iterating rapidly on vague requirements.
• Improve data quality by enhancing internal tools and frameworks for automatic issue detection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL query authoring.
• Proven ability to design data models for optimal storage and retrieval.
