Data & AI Platform Engineer

About the role

Sharon AI is a Nasdaq-listed, sovereign AI infrastructure platform serving Australia, New Zealand and the wider APAC region, building and operating AI Factories at scale. It is hiring a Data & AI Platform Engineer in Sydney on a full-time, permanent basis with hybrid working. The engineer owns the cloud foundation, infrastructure as code and delivery pipelines so the team can focus on building data products and AI agents.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and run the AWS foundation: accounts, networking, environments and core services, on an "everything as a service" model.
• Manage all infrastructure as code so environments are consistent, reviewable and easy to recreate.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for data pipelines, applications and agents, including automated testing and safe releases.
• Build security in from the start: identity and access, secrets management, encryption and audit logging, aligned with listed-company expectations.
• Set up monitoring, logging and alerting so the team can see how everything is running.
• Keep cloud costs visible and well managed as the platform grows.
• Create self-service templates and tooling, and partner with IT on shared identity and access standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years in cloud, platform, DevOps or site reliability engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS.
• Strong infrastructure as code skills, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions) and container platforms.
• A security-first mindset, with experience in identity, access and secrets management.
• Scripting skills in Python or similar, and curiosity about how AI can automate platform work.
• Nice to have: experience supporting data platforms (e.g. Databricks) or AI workloads.
