Data & AI Director

About the role

As a Director in PwC Australia’s Data & AI practice, you will lead large‑scale data and AI transformations for clients in the Energy and Mining sectors. You will combine consulting expertise with deep technical knowledge to advise senior stakeholders, shape solutions and guide multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives in Energy and Mining.
• Lead end‑to‑end Data & AI engagements from strategy through production deployment.
• Advise on data architecture, platforms, operating models and AI technology choices.
• Design solutions spanning data engineering, modern data platforms, analytics, machine learning, Generative AI and enterprise integration.
• Coach and oversee multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, data scientists and consultants.
• Drive business development by identifying opportunities, shaping propositions and delivering proposals.

Required profile

• Significant experience with executives in Energy and Mining.
• Proven track record of winning and delivering complex Data & AI consulting projects.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commercial mindset with experience shaping client opportunities and proposals.

Required skills

• Azure, AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
• Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric (or equivalent).
• Production‑grade AI/ML solutions, including Generative AI and emerging agentic AI.
• Modern data architecture, pipelines, integration and analytics.
• Understanding of AI governance, Responsible AI, security and risk.
