Systems Engineer - Infrastructure

About the role

Due to continued growth, IDX is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for its Group Technology Services team in a permanent full-time role. You will manage and optimise the core ICT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, acting as a technical subject matter expert on strategic projects while keeping operations secure, scalable and resilient.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and contribute to the evolution of the core technology roadmap and infrastructure strategy.
• Install, configure, maintain and monitor servers and storage, virtualisation environments, backup and replication solutions, Windows and Linux OS, databases and hybrid cloud services.
• Lead and deliver infrastructure projects with expert technical guidance.
• Own the support, maintenance and troubleshooting of enterprise infrastructure.
• Work with vendors and service providers to maintain performance and service delivery.
• Manage security, backup, redundancy, patching and firmware upgrades.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, availability and cyber security.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years' experience in systems engineering, designing, implementing and managing enterprise infrastructure.
• Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), or equivalent.
• Expertise in Red Hat OpenShift, SAN, HCI, SAN switching, VMware virtualisation, backup and replication, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, DNS and certificate management.
• Willingness to take part in after-hours support and on-call activities.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport; WA-based candidates preferred but applications across Australia are welcome.
