Data & AI Analyst (Sydney or Melbourne)

About the role

Join Deloitte’s Digital Assurance Data team in Australia to work with large enterprise datasets, AI‑enabled analytics and scalable data automation. You will collaborate with Audit & Assurance professionals and clients to deliver data‑driven solutions that improve insight, transparency and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, transform and analyse complex transactional data from multiple source systems using SQL and Python.
• Automate data‑preparation workflows and develop reusable ETL processes.
• Build interactive visualisations and dashboards in Power BI or Tableau to communicate operational, financial and risk trends.
• Perform data quality checks, reconciliations and anomaly analysis with stakeholders.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools to enhance delivery efficiency and support strategic transformation initiatives.
• Communicate findings, risks and progress clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail when working with large datasets.
• Interest in emerging AI technologies and AI‑assisted analytics.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Advanced SQL querying and data transformation capabilities.
• Experience creating visualisations in Power BI or Tableau.
